- While Web 2.0 might be relatively new, the internet is not. You need someone who has watched internet marketing evolve from banner ads and pay-per-click through to today's complex Social Media strategies.
I have been working in the internet marketing field as a freelance consultant for over 5 years, and first got involved with Social Media in May of 2006. 2.5 years ago, I went live with my very first Wordpress blog. When you hire me, you know that you're getting experience you can count on.
- Social Media isn't about spamming your links around the web and getting as many "friends" or "followers" as possible. You know that. And a real social media expert like me understands that Social Media Marketing is not advertising, it is essentially online public relations.
You want to find out where your ideal customers are spending their time, and join in on their conversation. I can help you do that by building a strategy based on your company's unique customer demographics and goals.
- Social media is about creating a message, and giving your customers an incentive to pass it around. Don't dictate the conversation, be a part of it. As someone with a strong background in advertising copywriting (in fact, I still do it every day) I know how to craft your message from concept to delivery for maximum impact.
- You don't just want someone who can look busy submitting your site to search engines. You're looking for real, tangible results - and not only can I provide the results, but I have an in depth knowledge of tracking and analyzing metrics and statistics. I won't just promise you results, I'll show them to you.
- Knowledge is a process, not a destination. The new web evolves fast - faster than fast. You need someone who is not only willing, but excited to constantly absorb new knowledge and apply it to your business. I spend every day tracking at least 4 major social media blogs for new developments, while doing my own research as well. Your campaigns will always be on the cutting edge when you choose me as your Social Media Marketer.
- Many social media marketers started their careers in Web 2.0. They have built a vast amount of knowledge that is useful for utilizing this new media. But because of their limited experience in other forms of marketing, they have difficulty understanding the bigger picture.
How does social media marketing work with the rest of your marketing department? What about the sales and distribution departments? Customer service? A true expert will be in touch with all of these departments to develop the right kind of campaign. Without that crucial knowledge, a lot of time can be wasted in trial and error.
I can help with this by drawing on my many years of experience to properly integrate and align your Web 2.0 tactics with the rest of your business. That is, after all, why I call myself an integration marketing specialist.
- You are a Canadian company, and you have unique needs in the marketplace. And because of time zone differences, even someone from Ontario or Quebec may not be in the office when you need to communicate with them.
I am local - just down the highway in fact, about 90 minutes from the heart of downtown Vancouver. My office hours can match yours exactly, and I'm always just a local phone call away. Even better, because I have been freelancing for the last 3 years, I already have a high-tech complete office set up, complete with high-speed internet & dedicated phone line, 3 computers, photography and video equipment, and a lot more.
- Conventional education is important to provide a base for experience. That is why I have completed my first year of University, as well as obtaining certifications in Business Writing, Advertising Industry Knowledge, Marketing Concepts, Sales Concepts, as well as several other certifications and training programs. Book smarts aren't my only advantage, but it is hard to use experience effectively without a good educational base.
There is one hard and fast rule in the new world: Engage or die. If you don't engage your customers, they won't be your customers for long. That is why my goal is not to control all social media related to your business - but to utilize social media & networking to guide public perceptions and increase awareness.
Blasting out random advertising is out-dated - move into the new age of marketing with an expert by your side.
